Well...The album isn't coming for a few weeks still but the anticipation is killing me!
So, these are the songs that we can hear in full as of now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRkzkIWmo-o Medicine Man - The lead single and an addictive and (to borrow lyrics off the song) contagious pop song that sinks into your brain until you can't stop saying "Simply Outrageous!" in normal conversation. I LOVE it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUu-8Wn26Rk Everything Up (Zizou) - While The Garden's free download was "Left Behind", a folksy, short and sweet dabble at a break up song "Everything Up" is everything in the contrary. The beats got you moving your head and once the song hooks you with the catchy melody, it picks up with keyboards and makes you wanna shake your booty. Weird lyrics, but all in the name of fun. http://www.myspace.com/zero7official Mr. McGee - This song opens up with the promise of being a little abstract and weird but once the actual words start it delves into this weird experimental side until the beat kick up and you wanna shake around. The poppiest I've heard Zero 7 and I'm absolutely loving it. Swing - The most "vintage" Zero 7 track I've heard. It sounds like a b-side from The Garden that was recycled for this. It's very folksy and fun and the singer makes the song sound quite elevated. It's very fun and smooth. Solastalgia - The perfect chill-out song. Or the perfect song to fall asleep with (I've tried it). It's quite weird and beep-y but still quite melodic and trippy. I'M SO EXCITED! Peace and Love! |

I just found "Pop Art Blue" which is my favorite song by far:

Brilliant find. I wanted to wait to listen to it, because I wanted to be surprised.

I hate to be critical but 11 tracks !?!
They've had 3 years to come up with some new music, it's not like they have proper jobs like the rest of us, eleven tracks just seems like laziness. |
The "deluxe" edition, which will be available on iTunes, has an extra track along with multiple remixes.
The extra track seems to be an instrumental track, though. And to my ears, it sounded like it was sampling another Zero 7 track but I just can't put my finger on it. Maybe it was just me.
And the opening track "Count On Me" is also another instrumental sampling the melody of "Solastalgia". So, yes. I was thinking that, too. 11 tracks seems way too little for it being 3 years in the making. And having half the album be instrumental. I enjoy their instrumental songs as much as the next bloke but come on... They didn't even release b-sides with the Medicine Man single! Peace and Love! |

What do you expect? A double album, an album with 100 tracks?
They've been doing other projects + plenty of other artists spend this amount of time on albums. I like many others enjoy their instrumental work over the work with vocals and considering that The Garden had few instrumental tracks and that considering that many of the vocal tracks weren't up to much, well... Mr Surmiser surmises yet again. |

Swing and Pop Art Blue are really good. Martha Tilston sounds like Sophie Barker

Well, I'm not being ungrateful here. I've been a huge Zero 7 fan from the start. It just seems to me that 11 tracks is a LITTLE short for a band with a big following of loyal fans. They've been gone for a while and Ingrid Eto didn't even come to the states, or much outside of Europe for that matter. We all couldn't enjoy the full fruit of that endeavor, (sure, I downloaded their MySpace songs but still...).
I'm not even saying I didn't like their instrumental works. I love all of them. I'm not saying I won't love the album, either. I absolutely can't stop listening to what we've heard so far. P.S.: I was thinking Martha sounded a lot like Sophie. It was weird. Peace and Love! |

Hi solarandlunar, Nikke here from Zero7 HQ (label). Could you please contact me on my email at: nikke.osterback@gmail.com I have a proposal you might be interested in.
Nikke |

Oh I'm in intrigued now, whats the proposal? & why don't we all get one? Me and my wife are very big fans & have been since they started, why don't we get a proposal?
Yeah, seriously. I'm interested too. I've been following them for damn near a decade now and have turned all of my friends on to their music. Quite frankly, their PR machine kinda sucks.
I feel like I'm being reprimanded by the Internet's police officer.
Peace and Love! |
Haha, I think we're all just interested in said proposa.

What was the deal solarandlunar? was she just telling you off for linking the forum to most of the album?
Nikke, can you give us any details as to what we might expect on the tour? will they be staying well away from any Sia vocaled tracks? will they be playing more than the 11 tracks that are on the album? I hope so otherwise the show won't last much more than 45 mins or so, I hope they play 'Your place,' I flipping love that tune. Who's supporting? Zero7 are shocking for sharing info with their fans when you compare to other bands. Just look at other bands websites and you'll see what I mean. Everyone keep their eyes open for interviews, with a new album on the way they should be doing some press runs soon. |
