salü koebi,

is your server down only temporarily, or did you take it completely offline?

i miss listening to zero7 when i'm on the road, instead of carrying my minidiscs with me all the time Smiler

Hi Out Of Town
It's down temporary.
Problem are two faulty disk drives. I can't read anything at the moment from the data disk while the system itself is running again. But nevertheless I have to reconfigure everything. So I'm still trying to get all data back.

It's not really my hardware year Mad

Sorry about the delay. I hope to get the streaming server up and running again by Sunday.

The FTP works now but I used an older backup. So feel free to update it if you can.

Have a nice day
Koebi

Hi Out Of Town
They are Consumer Drives.
One was a Hitachi Deskstar (HDS722525VLAT80), 250 GB. The other a Maxtor DiamondMax 11 (6H500R0), 500 GB.
Problem is that shortly before they failed they destroyed the backup. Strange thing is that they both were completely destroyed after that. The data of the Maxtor could be saved for most parts by changing the electronics from an identical Harddrive. For the Hitachi I don't have a similar model here. So I ordered one. Maybe I can get the data back afterwards. But I'm sure it will take another 2 weeks for that Mad
As I said already: It's not my hardware year.

hmm, sounds like a power surge or short circuit rather than a long time stress issue. if that was the case I guess not even a raid setup would have helped..
well, I wish you all the best and hope the recovery of the second drive works as well.

Hi Koebi0,
I was wondering if i could get a track listing of your music collection, if it's not too much of a trouble? The collection you have is just amazing...

Thanks!
